Conference information

SUnMaRC is a conference devoted to research by undergraduates in the mathematical sciences. Some students attend to hear talks by other undergraduates to see what types of research is being done by others, and many give talks themselves on work they have done.

Talks can be on mathematics, applied mathematics, statistics, or math education.

This year, the conference will be held at Colorado State University in Fort Collins, CO, April 3-5, 2020. Here is the conference website.

We will provide full financial support for as many students as possible to attend. To apply for support, please e-mail with the following information:
Year (e.g, freshman, ..., senior)
Whether or not you would like to give a talk
Past SUnMaRC experiences (if you have attended, and if you have given a talk)
If you would like to give a talk, also provide:
Tentative title
Faculty sponsor (if possible, an ASU faculty member familiar with your work)
Brief description of your talk. Focus the description on what you did; very little background is needed for this purpose.
We plan to leave around midday on Friday 4/3 and return the evening of Sunday 4/5.

The deadline for applying is February 21, 2020.

Please send any questions to John Jones (
